Both my grandmothers were artists, gardeners, painters, potters and bakers and they celebrated their grandchildren by welcoming them into their world and allowing us to create to our hearts content.

My grandfathers had such a deep love and respect for nature around us and I spent hours with them hearing stories and learning about the birds and wildlife around us.

 

As a teenager I drove my teachers mad with my attention always with the pen in my hand doodling in the margins of my school books, and it has since evolved into a passion that drives me to explore the intrinsic but somewhat lost connection between ourselves and this beautiful earth that we are lucky to inhabit.

Over the years I have spent time learning about and studying natural and alternative healing. On this path I trained in Reiki and received my Master attunement in 2015. There is so much more to Reiki than the alternative healing aspect, Reiki is a way of living an authentic, deeply connected life. As a Reiki practitioner we use our hands to channel life force energy, 'Ki' with the aim of restoring balance, promoting healing and spiritual growth.

 

And the name Otterly Inspired?  Animals have always been such an important part of my life and I can sit for hours at a waterhole watching the hippo's play or in the garden watching the birds looking for seeds in the grass.  I believe that all the living living creatures, trees, birds, animals have so much to teach us if we are willing to learn. The otter is my totem animal, she comes to remind me to embrace the freedom of joy, playfulness and balance in my life. If she had her own motto in life it would be to dance like nobody is watching and drag your friends and family along for the ride!

 

I love to create intuitive totem mandalas, all of my art is infused with Reiki, blending artistic expression with Ki energy.
